The Metro Tails Pet Care story began when I lost my job in 2006, shortly before the beginning of the financial collapse and the Great Recession.

Prior to founding Metro Tails Pet Care in 2007, I worked in financial publishing on Wall Street for nearly 20 years. Truth be told, I hated my job and I was happy when I was fired! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do next, but I clearly knew what I didn’t want to do. Despite my experience and education, an MBA and MS in Publishing, I was no longer interested in corporate America and all that entailed. Confused and at a loss as to what to do next, I turned on the TV and listened as one talk show expert after another told me to “find my bliss,” and just do what I love. Easier said than done. Like most people I know, I had no idea what I wanted to do.

People would ask me all the time, “What do you love?” The answer was always the same: “I love animals.”

Then one day, it hit me! How can I leverage my experience, skills, education and my love of animals? And, just like that, I went from Director of Advertising and Sponsorship Sales to Petpreneur!

And, I’ve never been happier!
